JOANN "THE WOMAN"
I was born and raised on the Hexelena Road, nine miles outside of Ahoskie, North Carolina..Eighty-Seven point five acres of land. Graduated from Charles Grant White High School, June 3, 1966. I can not tell you about the good time I had growing up because there wasn't any... church, school, and the field was all that I knew. No such thing as dates, school functions.
My good times started two week after graduation..Bright lights here I come, "THE BIG APPLE" Brooklyn, New York. The first three years I ran the street with a bunch of Ahoskie girls. The news got home to mama and daddy that I was running the streets doing nothing. Mama wrote me a two page letter. The letter stated, Ann, if you don't stay out of the streets and do something with your life I am coming, and I will drag your ass back home. Believe me, she didn't have to say that but once, (smile).
I went to business school, American Business Institute, graduated again. I worked hard for years. At the age of Twenty-five I met a man and married. I gave him two children, (a boy and a girl). That relationship became very abusive. Skipping a lot of drama, I stayed two more years. The relationship became to dangerous for me and our children. So I separated 1974, divorced 1977. My next relationship was in 1982. We never got the chance to marry, he ripped me off in the 5th year. Dug a hole and threw the dirty on top of me, and I mean that literally.
I have had no relationships since and never re-married. I moved to Virginia in 1994, right after the February, 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Yes, I was in that bombing, I was working in The Trade Center on the 89th floor at that time. I survived the ordeal, but I didn't feel safe after the incident. I left New York in August of 1994, stopped off in Virginia and I have been here ever since.
Since I've been here, I have yet to find a man to call my own. My fondest blessings are to wait on the Lord to send me a man who can be real with himself as he would be real with me also. A man who will treat me with the up-most respect, as I would him. A man with a great zest for life. Loving and sharing things with each other in every way possible. As if today would be the last day of no tomorrows.
The first thing a man will ask, what do you like to do? My answers would be:
To live and enjoy each moment of that day that we spend together. If it was only walking around the block a couple of times, or just talking to one another. Oh, I love the walks, the drives, the conversations, (I love to talk as well as listen). I love the quiet dinners for two, and dinners with the large families on both sides. I don't do the sport thing myself, nor the fishing thing, but if that is what you do, than I am there with you sharing in your enjoyments.
Sensuality, well that is something you will have to find out when you meet me, (smile).....Romance....Do a cow give milk....?
"STARLIGHT AND YOU
Sitting high on a hill, with the moon
bright and still, and in his eyes
the starlight shines, your body
has a sensual design, you're
so intoxicating, like exquiste
wine, my hands tremble, for at
last you're mine.
I can't help but sigh, you're so
handsoome under the midnight sky,
I can't help but want you, as the
starlight shines in your eyes.
I'm like a queen on a throne, as
we lay here alone, nobody but you
and I as we watch the world go by,
you make it so special, when the
starlights shine in your eyes.
